Does the assigned design of the LE exist in Singapore context? Why?
Yes, because we want to promote better understanding amongst students of different cultural backgrounds. We want students to be able to identify and solve problems and make contributions to society throughout their lifetime.
Questions on Singapore Flyer in the N-Levels ( 2009) – more familiar to the students compared to a question on bus timetable ( 2008).
E-learning for Maths – ACE Learning Portal. Examples shown are those that students can relate to. Eg. F1 race to explain gradient.
OPW- Online Project Work for students. Students are expected to work collaboratively to complete a multi-disciplinary project work.

our third session...

We are in class right now. Trying to figure out how to connect our blogs. There's really a lot to do and im struggling a bit. I think the students would have absolutely no problem catching up on all the instructions given. This would have been a very conducive learning environment for the students; the beauty of technology. I am sure when it comes to computers, the students will be very engaged and they will more than happy to comment on their thoughts and feelings. However, teachers need to ensure that the students actually learn something and not busy checking out youtube videos.

Reflections after the first session of MED 858

I apologise for the late entry. The first session was quite overwhelming as we were tasked to do quite a number of things within the hour . But I'm glad I was able to create my g-mail account and assessed various tools such as Wiki, G-mail, blogspot and many more. I think Wiki was particularly interesting because it is a very good platform to share our documents and opinions on the lessons. I shall learn how to make use of it further in classrooms. :)
